Our Story
More than 50 years ago, HoneyBaked Ham began with one store in Detroit, Michigan. Our founder, Harry J. Hoenselaar, selected the finest quality bone-in hams, which he'd smoke for hours over a unique blend of hardwood chips to add extra flavor and tenderness. The final touch was Harry's sweet glaze and, of course, the way he'd slice it in a single, continuous spiral – a process he patented.
Since that beginning in a single store with a single product, HoneyBaked has grown into a premium brand featuring more than bone-in ham and boneless hams.
We have expanded our product line to include a wide assortment of fresh and interesting products such as smoked and roasted turkey breasts, roasts, BBQ, fresh deli sides and delectable desserts. But we won't stop there. To maintain relevance with today's consumers as well as increase market share, we are focused on preserving our innovative product development history by introducing new product ideas, all of which can be sold through various revenue channels: over-the-counter retail, lunch, catering and business-to-business gifting.
