Q: What is the cost of your franchise?
A: The initial franchise and development fees are $30,000.

Q: What will it cost to get my franchise up and running?
A: The following is a summary of typical costs to open a store in an in-line leased space. These costs will vary and are outlined in our Franchise Disclosure Document.
Initial fee: $30,000
Start-up costs: $293,000 to $414,900

Q: What are the financial qualifications to become a HoneyBaked franchisee?
A: We require a net worth of at least $350,000, including a minimum of $100,000 in liquid assets, with a strong credit history.

Q: Does HoneyBaked offer financing?
A: Generally, no. Franchisees typically secure their own financing. We are on the SBA Registry, so many of our franchisees have received funding through local lenders and/or an SBA loan. We can also provide you a listing of third-party financing resources.

Q: Will I be able to open additional stores?
A: Yes. Your success, as well as ours, is tied to your growth and profitability. We offer a multi-unit development plan, or you can purchase one store now and add later. Many of our current franchisees have more than one store.

Q: What training will I receive as a new franchisee?
A: We have a comprehensive two-week, hands-on training program that all new franchisees must successfully complete. Training topics are covered via in-store training at an approved training store, along with classroom training.

Q: How long will it take to get started?
A: Location is the determining factor. Our real estate and facilities team will guide you through site selection, lease negotiation, build-out and construction. Your primary proactive involvement in locating and negotiating your site is critical to your ability to achieve your goals. We estimate it will take three to six months after signing your lease.

Q: What form of continued operational guidance will be provided?
A: You will be assigned a Franchise Business Consultant, who is familiar with all facets of the business. Other resources will guide you through staff selection, opening advertising, equipment and supplies ordering, product inventory and provide timelines to ensure you are on target with your goals. Additionally, our intranet site provides a central location for marketing materials, training documents and other communications and resources with just a few clicks.

Q: Are franchisees required to have a restaurant background?
A: No restaurant background is required; we teach you what you need to know.

Q: What special skills are required?
HoneyBaked Ham is looking for candidates that possess good business skills such as:

  • Financial management skills
  • Sales aptitude to help you build your lunch, catering and gifting business
  • Managerial experience
  • Willingness to follow a proven system
